3.  Using your 3 colors of paint, alternate painting the colors the entire length of the candle.

November 7, 2012 by momondealz 1 Comment

Each week I bring you a craft that is fun, educational, and frugal. Fall has some of the most amazing colors and I love handprint crafts so I combined them both this week!

If you’ve missed any previous crafts, check out Momondealz’s Kids Frugal Fun page. Just a side note, I as much as I can when doing games such as this-it really helps preserve the pieces!

Remember, if you love any of my crafts, be sure to .

Fall  Hand Print Wreath

Materials:
Red, orange, yellow, and green construction paper
Piece of cardboard (size you want wreath)
Brown paint
Mod Podge
Scissors & Pencil

Directions:
1.  Cut out a wreath backing out of cardboard.

3.  Trace your child’s hands on the different colored construction paper.

4. Cut out the hand shapes and glue onto the cardboard wreath pattern.

Educational Activities:

Math:
1.  Have your child estimate how many “hands” it will take to cover the wreath.
2.  Have your child  measure the lengths of their hands. Make comparisons of sizes if you use more than one child’s handprint.

Language Arts:
From now until Thanksgiving have your child write something they are thankful for on each hand.

Sunday School:

This craft lends itself perfectly to the verse:  1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NAS) in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  Using the language arts activity above would tie this verse to the craft perfectly.
